Rose City Photo Co. is a Portland wedding photography studio built around one idea: you should get to live your wedding, not perform it.
How we work
We’ve been photographing weddings for 16 years. In that time the approach has settled into something simple: show up early, stay quiet, and pay attention. We don’t run a wedding like a photo shoot. We photograph the one that’s actually happening.
That means very little posing, a family photo list that takes fifteen minutes instead of forty-five, and a photographer who knows when to step back. Most of the images our couples love most are the ones they didn’t know were being taken.
What we believe
Presence over production. Your people, your vows, your first dance. You only get one pass at each. Our job is to make sure you never have to leave the moment to make a photograph happen.
A team, not a solo act. Rose City Photo Co. is a lead photographer and a crew of associate photographers who shoot in the same calm, candid style. It means we can say yes to more dates without stretching thin, and it means there’s always a backup on the day.
The booth is part of the story. Our vintage mid-century photo booth comes with every collection, because the prints your guests tape into the guest book are some of the most-looked-at photographs from any wedding.
Photographs should outlast hard drives. Every wedding lives in three complete copies in three places. In 15 years we have never deleted an image. Here’s exactly how that works.

Based in Portland. Travel within two hours is included: the Columbia River Gorge, the Oregon Coast, the Willamette Valley, and everywhere in between. We also photograph weddings in Seattle and Western Washington, with travel included.
